Hi, my name is Yaro. Originally from Ukraine I'm now based in London.
I was born into a family of a musician and was surrounded by music
from an early age. I started learning cello at the age of six, in
addition to dancing and art school, having eventually to drop those and
devote all my time to music.
After studying in my hometown Rivne, I then moved to Kyiv to continue
my studying at the M.Lysenko Specialized Music School and later at the
National Academy of Music.
When in 2013 the revolution in Ukraine started to unfold, my
conservatoire was partly shut, the part that was still open was
extremely unsafe to attend, as it is situated right at the Independancy
Square in the heart of Kyiv.
At that time a completely unrelated set of events brought me to London
and I played an impromptu audition at the Royal College of Music. Being
offered a place and a scholarship I decided to drop my studies back home
and moved to London.
I joined the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2018 just as I was graduating
from the RCM. Philharmonia has always been one of my favourite
orchestras, and I feel so lucky to be part of the team!
In the meantime ... covid has happened. The prolonged periods of time
without any concert activity felt very strange. Having so much free time
alowed me to discover many new hobbies and passions I never had time for
in the past, and each of them represents a different side of my
personality. I could spend days in a pottery studio or with a camera in
my hands, I received a diploma in Interior Design and Feng Shui, I also
enjoy learning salsa. My newest passion is coding! I made this website
from scratch as part of my course.
This page is very much a work in progress, and new content related to
my coding and musical journey will follow. But do let me know what you
think, any feedback and suggestions are welcome!
I built this weather app using React and an API from Open Weather. Please check it out in horizontal layout, still didn't figure out how to make this app responsive on smartphones.
